Air Proving Switches

Instruments, sensors and controls
Air Proving Switches are used to verify the presence of airflow in ventilation and air handling systems to ensure safe and reliable operation. Connected to the safety loop, they prevent system operation if sufficient airflow is not detected, protecting connected equipment and supporting system safety.

Airflow verification can be based on differential pressure or thermal measurement principles, depending on the application and sensitivity requirements. These solutions are used in industrial, commercial and residential duct applications as part of modern HVAC systems.
CDA - Duct Airflow Monitor

Reliable airflow monitoring in ventilation ducts

The CDA duct airflow monitor is designed for industrial and commercial applications where conventional air proving switches based on pressure or differential pressure are not sufficiently sensitive. The unit is used for reliable airflow monitoring in ventilation ducts and is connected directly to the safety loop.

The sensor operates on a calorimetric measurement principle, ensuring accurate detection of airflow – even at low air velocities. The temperature-compensated measurement technology provides stable and reliable performance under varying operating conditions. The switching point can be easily adjusted via an integrated potentiometer, allowing straightforward adaptation to the specific installation.

With an IP65 enclosure rating, the duct airflow monitor is suitable for use in demanding environments. The unit is supplied complete with a mounting flange for easy and secure duct installation.

CDA-S – Duct Airflow Monitor

Airflow monitoring for residential duct applications

The CDA-S is designed for residential duct applications where conventional air proving switches based on pressure or differential pressure are not sufficiently sensitive. The unit provides reliable airflow monitoring and is connected directly to the safety loop, ensuring safe operation of ventilation systems in private homes.

CDA-S is particularly suitable for installations where stable airflow detection is required at low air velocities, and where a compact and robust solution is needed for everyday residential use.

APS – Air proving Switch [Pa]

APS - Differential pressure airflow verification for duct systems

The APS Air Proving Switch is designed for industrial and commercial duct applications and is used as an air proving switch wired directly into the safety loop. The unit monitors airflow by measuring differential pressure, providing a reliable and proven method for airflow verification in ventilation systems.

The switching point is set using a clearly marked scale in Pascal, allowing precise and straightforward adjustment to suit the specific installation requirements. APS is a robust and practical solution for applications where differential pressure-based airflow monitoring is sufficient and required.

Technical details

  • Range: 20...300 Pa
  • Output: changeover contact
  • Operating difference: ~0.1 mbar ±15 %
  • No power supply needed
  • incl. connection set
  • 5A / 250VAC switching load
  • IP54 rating
  • DVGW (according to DIN 1854)
