The Bundesrat building in Leipziger Straße in Berlin can point to over a century of history. The planned, three-winged building was inaugurated by architect Friedrich Schulze-Kolbitz for use by the Prussian House of Lords in 1904. After the building was partially destroyed in the Second World War, it was renovated in the post-war period and then used for different purposes by various institutions of the East German government. The M-Pire

Munich's THE m.pire building complex was designed by American star architect Helmut Jahn, and consists of a 23-story tower as well as two five-story and two seven-story campus buildings. The seamless glass facade confers a visual and spatial sense of harmonic unity on the four elongated building segments and the tower. A flexible floor plan forms the basis for a future-oriented work environment that maximizes efficiency, aesthetics and modern technology, allowing the internal space to be divided not only into individual offices, but into hybrid and open-plan configurations as well. Two of the buildings, the Skyline Tower and Bailey Palace, have been rented to OSRAM since 2012 and serve as the company's head office. In total, about 1,200 workstations are available in an area of just over 300,000 square feet. The OSRAM headquarters meets the standards for a modern workplace, and satisfies all the requirements for sustainable building management. The buildings have been certified with the DGNB Certificate in Gold from the German Sustainable Building Council. Agbar Tower is a 32-story office complex located directly on the famed Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes in Barcelona. Its outer form resembles that of the 30 St Mary Axe office building in London, which was built at around the same time. Agbar Tower's glass facade is intended to represent a water fountain which changes its colors depending on the angle of the light. This is accomplished with 40 different shades of paint that reflect the light in different ways. The effect is reinforced by thousands of glass louvers that are mounted on the outside of the facade to provide sun protection. Based on the position of the sun, they turn to provide the highest possible degree of reflection, and to create natural air circulation inside the building. At night, Agbar Tower is lit by 4,500 LED spotlights in changing colors and can be seen from far away &mdash every bit as clearly as by day. With a height of 255 meters and a total of 54 stories, the Evolution Tower is one of the most impressive skyscrapers of the Russian metropolis. It was built between 2011 and 2014 in cooperation with the Scottish artist Karen Forbes and is part of the Moscow International Business Center. It earned international fame due to the high degree of twisting with which it rises into the sky. It consists of two ribbons that twist around one another so that each story is rotated by 3° compared to the previous story. The tower's design was inspired by images of the Cathedral of St. Vasily and the sculpture of French sculptor August Rodin's The Kiss. How can I tell if my office humidity is too low?

If an office humidity is too low, one of the first noticeable effects is an increase in electrostatic discharge. Dry skin can also be an indicator. However, to really understand an office humidity, it is best to use a desktop hygrometer. These are cheap devices and can display a room's humidity and often temperature as well.

Alternatively, if you have concerns about an office humidity, a building's facility manager may be able to share information with you on existing humidity control measures.

My workplace is too dry! What can I do about it?

Regularly monitor and record temperature and humidity. Humidity is usually lowest in winter when heating is on. Check with colleagues for symptoms like sore eyes, itchy skin, static shocks or breathing issues. If you have similar problems, a doctor’s note linking them to dry air can support your case. If humidity stays below 40%RH, share your findings with your line manager. They can escalate to health and safety or HR, and the facilities manager may need to review climate control systems.
