MED-EL Innsbruck: A high-tech research hub powered by efficient steam humidification

MED-EL is one of the world’s leading providers of implantable hearing solutions. The development centre opened in August 2013 at its headquarters in Innsbruck occupies a total of 13,270 square metres on five floors. The building’s Passive House-style construction uses thermal insulation and heat recovery to achieve high energy efficiency. The new head office is home to the Research, Design, Development and Manufacturing divisions. Movable partition walls allow conference room layouts to be flexibly rearranged; training labs, measurement labs, and clean rooms are equipped with the latest technology; and the open layout of the glass-walled office areas encourage communication and collaboration. The Dunkerque Hospital Center is a public healthcare facility located in Dunkerque, serving a large population across the coastal area.
