Steam humidity for space legacy at Kennedy Space Center
The John F. Kennedy Space Center is one of the most iconic locations in the history of space exploration. As NASA’s primary launch site for human spaceflight, it represents a place where scientific ambition, technological excellence, and human curiosity come together. To support indoor air quality in this landmark facility, steam humidification using professional steam humidifiers ensures optimal and stable humidity levels for occupants and sensitive environments. Today, it continues to inspire millions of visitors while serving as a fully active hub for future missions.
NASA Kennedy Space Center
The John F. Kennedy Space Center is NASA’s gateway to space on Merritt Island in Florida. Between December 1968 and July 2011, all manned space flights of the United States were launched here — first the Apollo missions and, from 1981 until 2011, the space shuttles, some of which also returned to this site. The total area of the Kennedy Space Center, where around 17,000 people work, covers nearly 570 square kilometres. Hundreds of thousands of visitors flock to the KSC Visitor Complex every year. Since June 2013, the space shuttle Atlantis has been one of the main attractions of the visitor centre, presented as an impressive museum exhibit. Condair’s RS steam humidifiers ensure optimal humidity, protecting the shuttle and other exhibits while maintaining a stable indoor climate.

The Condair RS steam humidifiers boast patented limescale management which prevents permanent deposition of limescale on heater rods. Limestone crusts are successively detached and removed from the steam cylinder into the limescale collection vessel. Limestone management ensures extremely short waiting times and a long life.
The innovative control system fitted with a touch display ensures outstanding transparency of function and precise steam delivery. The units are the result of decades of experience and they define the state of the art in modern steam humidification.
