Humidity ensures perfect acoustics at Philharmonie Luxembourg
Delivering outstanding acoustics and visitor comfort requires a precisely controlled indoor climate. In the Philharmonie Luxembourg, Condair’s Dual hybrid humidification system helps maintain the ideal atmosphere for both performers and audiences.
Perfect acoustics meet perfect air: Condair at the Philharmonie Luxembourg
The Philharmonie, opened in 2005, has a prestigious location on a hill in the capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The extravagant concert hall, designed by the highly regarded French architect Christian de Portzamparc, has three completely different halls on a total floor space of 20,000 square metres:
The large concert hall Salle de Concerts Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte for an audience of up to 1,500 and 120 musicians; in the basement, the small Expace Découverte hall with 120 seats and the chamber music hall Salle de Musique de Chambre adjacent to the main building, accommodating an audience of 302. In terms of layout, the white main building is shaped like an eye; the steel and glass facade is visually dominated by 823 white columns, each 20 metres high and 30 centimetres in diameter. Condair Dual hybrid humidifiers ensure great air quality and comfortable humidity.

Condair DL
The Condair DL is the next generation of the Condair Dual2—the world's most successful system for adiabatic humidification. Its hygienic credentials have proven successful in practice and were verified and certified by independent organisations with public responsibility.
Hybrid humidification relies exclusively on the advantages of atomisation and evaporation. This results in the sustainable resolution of key problems which can emerge when these technologies are used in isolation. The humidification system is therefore the first choice in terms of hygiene, energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
