The Rheinhallen Cologne: A historic landmark revitalised with modern hygienic steam humidification

In 1922 the former mayor of Cologne, Konrad Adenauer, had already laid the foundations for the Rheinhallen with the initiation of the Cologne Trade Fair Company. The complex of buildings, protected as a historic monument, directly next to the banks of the Rhine in the Deutz district of Cologne was a trade fair venue from 1924 to 2005. Despite numerous refurbishments and modernisations, especially after World War II, the uniform brick building of 1928 can still be recognised, having dominated the panorama of the right bank of the Rhine for decades. In 2005 the Rheinhallen was handed over to the City of Cologne. For the new main tenant, the media group RTL, including TV networks RTL, VOX, Super RTL and the news network n-tv, the interior of the original halls was completely stripped out. Two four-story buildings were inserted into the existing facades as part of the conversion. The Condair ESCO pressurized steam distribution system guarantees hygienic humidification of the highest standard.

Condair ESCO humidification systems for existing steam set the standards. The key element is the TÜV (German Technical Inspection Association) certified steam connection unit. The functional elements are fully integrated into it, in a design that guarantees fault-free steam connection.

Costly seals and pipework are superfluous. Installation is calculable, quick and cost-effective. The modular steam distribution system with its patented steam nozzles needs no jacket heating. This effectively prevents unnecessary energy consumption even during downtimes. All seal points are included in the factory delivery. This simplifies the entire equipment installation significantly without running the risk of leaking pipe connections.

Bauhaus

The Bauhaus in Dessau is considered the home of modern 20th century architecture. The building was opened in 1926 and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, together with the Bauhaus site in Weimar.First it was built as a university according to the plans of Walter Gropius. In the meantime it has become the headquarters of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation. Actelion Business Center

Das imposante Gebäude im Stil des Dekonstruktivismus ist Hauptsitz des Pharmaunternehmens Actelion Ltd und wurde von den Schweizer Stararchitekten Herzog de Meuron entworfen. Die balkenartige Architektur erstreckt sich über sechs Stockwerke und bietet ungewohnte Durch- und Ausblicke, Erholungszonen mit Höfen und Terrassen sowie eine moderne Arbeitsatmosphäre für 350 Mitarbeiter. Durch die dreidimensionale Stapelung der Fassade waren 1.500 Detailzeichnungen, 2.500 Tonnen Stahl und 3,8 Kilometer Fachwerkträger notwendig, um den statischen Lastabtrag zu realisieren. Für ein optimales Raumklima ist durch innovative Hybrid-Luftbefeuchter der Serie DL von Condair bestens gesorgt.

Cupertino, California, located close to San Francisco, is home to the headquarters of American technology company Apple. The building was designed by British architect Norman Foster, who realized the idea of an oversized ring in connection with the former Apple Campus at Infinite Loop No. 1 in Cupertino.

At a diameter of almost half a kilometre (461 m), the building complex offers a gigantic usable area of 260,000 m2 and space for 12,000 employees. The ring contains a 130,000 m2 park with rest areas, cafés, sports facilities and a rainbow-coloured festival stage, which was inaugurated by Lady Gaga in 2018. Powered entirely by renewable energy,
the building features a 17-megawatt rooftop solar energy system and energy-efficient evaporative cooling from Condair.
