For quality assurance, the automotive supplier uses direct room air humidification in the production halls there. The installed high-pressure nozzle humidifiers of the TurboFog type spray a microfine mist when required, which is immediately absorbed by the room air and distributed evenly there.
To ensure an optimal target value of around 50 percent relative humidity, a direct room air humidification system from Condair Systems was installed for the first time in 2011 and has since been expanded and updated several times. For Thomas Hering, this technology has a positive side effect: "The complete absorption of the microfinely nebulized water droplets removes heat from the hall air and has a very positive effect on our employee satisfaction in summer." This makes it possible to reduce the temperature in the production halls by up to 2 °C very economically and noticeably increases well-being: "Air humidification has become a stable factor in our quality assurance, both for the ESD protection of our production and for the satisfaction of our employees with the indoor climate," says Martin Ennemann (Facility Management), summarizing the double benefit for HELLA in Recklinghausen.
For SMD and THT PCB assembly, trouble-free machine throughput and precise assembly are decisive performance factors. A constantly optimal humidity has a positive influence on the accuracy and speed of the placement process. The controlled humidity protects against electrostatics and is an essential factor for trouble-free production for HELLA.
