
Keeping hops fresh with humidification at Timothy Taylor
Two Condair CP3 electrode boiler steam humidifiers are maintaining the humidity of the hops in Timothy Taylor Brewery’s new hops store at Keighley, UK.
Airedale Cooling Services Ltd, approach Condair as the companies had worked together previously and Condair had already supplied two humidifiers for the brewery’s original hop store two years ago.
Condair specified the Condair CP3 5kg/hr in-room humidifiers to satisfy the conditions for optimum hop storage of 65% relative humidity at 5oC. The duty required was 9kg/hr (i.e. 9 litres of moisture) which the combined humidifiers were well able to meet.
Derek Wintersgill, MD at Airedale Cooling, commented: “We have worked with Condair several times and, given the success of the first installation two years ago, we knew we could rely on them to specify the ideal humidifiers for the new store. The hops are now being kept in perfect conditions. Timothy Taylor Brewery is very pleased – and so are we.”
