Durability and maintenance

The Condair DC-N series features a robust hot-dip galvanized housing, with optional stainless steel AISI 304, designed for industrial environments. Refrigeration components and the electrical box are easily accessible by removing service panels, and the air filter can be replaced from the bottom. The remote condensers can be installed outdoors.

Optimized unit layout

The Condair DP features a high efficient refrigeration circuit using R410A refrigerant, non-toxic and non-flammable (safety group A1). Thermostatic expansion valves manage pressure equalization. All components are from established brands and easily accessible. The unit’s design separates air flow, refrigerant, and electrical components into dedicated compartments for safe and relieable operation.

Accessories and humidity control

The Condair DC series offers a range of accessories. Available upgrades include EC fans for increased static pressure, stainless steel housing and a frame for duct connection. The units are controlled via the integrated temperature and humidity sensors, and Modbus RTU is available for building management system integration.

What are the typical use cases for the Condair DC N dehumidifiers?

The Condair DC N series is designed for large industrial, commercial, and warehouse applications where conventional dehumidifiers’ heat gain could be problematic. These room dehumidifiers are not intended to be connected to an existing AHU. They can switch into cooling mode using the remote condenser, expelling most of the heat outside. The temperature control operates as a switching system, not modulated, making them ideal for larger production and storage areas not only humidity control, also temperature control.

What is the dehumidification capacity of the Condair DC N industrial dehumidifiers?

The dehumidification capacity of the Condair DC N series ranges from 247 to 1,055 liters per day at 30 °C and 80 % relative humidity. Depending on the model, airflow rates range from 3,500 to 8,500 m³/h, ensuring efficient moisture removal and uniform air distribution. All units operate on three-phase 400 V/50 Hz and cover an operating range of 5–36 °C and 40–99 % r.h., providing reliable performance even in cooler environments thanks to demand-controlled hot gas defrosting.  When operating in cooling mode with the remote condenser, outdoor conditions can influence the dehumidification capacity. These effects can be simulated and evaluated during the consulting phase to ensure optimal performance for the specific installation.

What must be considered when installing a Condair DC-N unit?

The distance between the Condair DC N unit and the remote condenser should not exceed 30 m. Depending on their relative positions, the refrigerant lines must include appropriate slopes or oil traps to ensure proper operation. Before opening the valves to the refrigerant lines, all connections must be leak-tested to guarantee safe and reliable performance. Biltong drying success with Condair & JTR

Specialist South African food supplier, The Savanna, is using Condair dehumidifiers to dry its award winning biltong at its production facility in London. Two Condair dehumidifiers were installed by John Todd Refrigeration (JTR) to help in the production of this traditional South African product.

Biltong is a dried and cured meat, with a rich and dense flavour, which is cut into strips and often eaten as a snack. The Savanna’s biltong is produced using grass-fed beef from the Scottish highlands and a traditional South African curing method. Silverside beef slabs are sliced into strips and then marinated before being mounted on hooks for air drying, which is where Condair’s dehumidifiers assist in the process.
