Precise humidity for Ferrari’s high-tech facilities

Ferrari’s historic headquarters in Maranello was modernized in 2010 with advanced production facilities, including a high-tech wind tunnel and hybrid engine test stand. Condair’s resistance steam humidifiers ensure precise humidity control, supporting the development of Ferrari’s next generation of high-performance sports cars.

The Ferrari Factory

The name Ferrari has long been synonymous with the pinnacle of luxury sports cars. Founded in 1947 by Italian racing driver Enzo Ferrari, the brand has been driven by a deep passion for racing from the very beginning. Over the decades, Ferrari has achieved numerous spectacular milestones, including world-renowned victories at the Formula 1 Grand Prix and multiple triumphs at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The historic Ferrari headquarters in Maranello, located in Northern Italy, remains the beating heart of the company. In 2010, the site underwent extensive modernization and was expanded with several new, cutting-edge production facilities. Today, the factory features a state-of-the-art wind tunnel, advanced testing infrastructure for hybrid engines, and highly precise indoor air humidity control - made possible by Condair’s reliable resistance steam humidifiers, which support optimal conditions for developing the next generation of record-breaking sports cars.

Condair RS

The Condair RS steam humidifiers boast patented limescale management which prevents permanent deposition of limescale on heater rods. Limestone crusts are successively detached and removed from the steam cylinder into the limescale collection vessel. Limestone management ensures extremely short waiting times and a long life.

The innovative control system fitted with a touch display ensures outstanding transparency of function and precise steam delivery. The units are the result of decades of experience and they define the state of the art in modern steam humidification.

Projects and references

Aston Martin

Condair JetSpray humidification systems are maintaining the humidity in the finishing areas at Aston Martin's Newport Pagnell and Bloxham plants. By maintaining a level of humidity at 55%RH, any dust that is in the atmosphere around the cars is suppressed, giving a much finer finish during the painting and sanding processes.

Volvo Cars Taizhou factory

This factory is the first CMA (Basic Module Architecture) factory in China, operated by the Volvo team, representing an important milestone in the industrial upgrading of Geely Holding Group.

Microsoft, Ireland

Microsoft Dublin uses an "open air cooling" system rather than mechanical chillers to maintain the low internal temperatures required around its servers. Fresh air is continuously introduced into the building and mixed with recirculated indoor air.

35 Condair evaporative humidifiers provide up to 8°C of energy-efficient evaporative cooling to its huge data rooms. This combined use of fresh air and evaporative cooling has enabled the data centre to eliminate the need for mechanical cooling for 95% of the year.

Schunk Carbon Technology GmbH, Bad Goisern (Germany)

Schunk Carbon Technology is a global leader in the development and production of high-quality carbon solutions that are used for power transmission in automotive and railway technology.
