Humidity control for printing facilities

Products

DRAABE PerPur, DRAABE HighPur, DRAABE TurboFogNeo 8, DRAABE HumCenter, DRAABE HumSpot, DRAABE PurControl

From printing to gluing

The Sonneberg plant mainly produces offset-laminated packaging with high quality standards. In order to ensure the quality of the high-quality end products, the DRAABE TurboFogNeo direct room air humidification system has been used since 2016.

Optimal production process

"Humidity is very important for us to ensure standardized conditions throughout the production process. This starts with printing, laminating and die-cutting through to gluing, folding and the finished product," explains Frank Drews, Technology Coordinator at Mondi. A relative humidity of 45 – 50 % protects against electrostatic charges and rebate breakage. In addition, the accuracy of fit, which is particularly important for offset lamination, is ensured and Mondi guarantees high product quality of the individual packaging solutions.

Safe air humidification

15 DRAABE TurboFogNeo 8 high-pressure humidifiers have been in use at Mondi since 2016. For trouble-free and hygienic operation of the air humidification, the packaging specialist can rely on the full-service maintenance concept from Condair Systems, which provides for an automatic replacement of the DRAABE Pur systems every six months. In addition, all components of the installed system are certified according to VDI 6022 Part 6. Mondi can thus prove the current state of the art at any time and enjoys the greatest possible safety in air humidification.

Projects and references

Airport Print Center (APC) der Fraport AG, Frankfurt (Germany)

Fraport AG's Airport Print Center (APC) has been using additional air humidification for two years. The optimal air humidity provides employees with a constantly pleasant indoor climate and prevents production disruptions during printing and postpress at the Frankfurt site.

Bischof&Klein GmbH&Co. KG, Konzell (Germany)

Less electrostatics, a targeted cooling effect and additional protection against virus transmission are the most important advantages of controlled humidity for Bischof + Klein. Since 2016, the plastics processing company in Konzell, Lower Bavaria, has been using direct room air humidification with high-pressure nozzles.

BluePrint AG, München (Germany)

BluePrint AG is the first German commercial printing company to use a Landa Nanographic printing press. To protect against electrostatic charges, the company uses an energy-saving high-pressure nozzle air humidification system from Condair Systems.
